Crash

Mum came home late from work yesterday, and immediately went to her room without taking dinner. Quite uncharacteristic of her, usually she would nag us about what we were doing, but last night ..

Went to her room to ask her to eat something, it was already 8 plus pm. She said no, and started to cry. Work was bogging her down, she said, too many things at a go, plus she was out of her depth. Managed to talk her round after a while. So she's getting 2 days MC today, and going to the tui na because she has some breathing difficulties.

My dad can happily sit outside and watch tv, my sis was doing her work, no comment there. But my brother? Hanging around rattling non-stop. Can't he see that people are not in the mood ..

Slept at 4am rushing ECPJ (DIE liao) and woke at 6am, since I told my maid to wake me up early thinking I'll be in time for the 8am lesson. But I overslept, so went for POFM lec at 10am instead.

Got myself choc stuff at Splash & Decker for lunch today, but strangely didn't feel the 'lift' that choc usually gives me. Didn't have much appetite the last few days. Look at food .. just don't feel like eating even if I need to.

Breaking down and crashing ..

Sleepyness

Completed POFM project!

Biz Comm nearly done.

Working on my ECPJ. Robin still has not sent the pic over.

Business Environment coming .. ack!

Been feeling sleepy and lethargic these 2 days ..

Walked/cycled to Vista Point with my mum and sis to get a haircut yesterday. End result, I look kinda like a mushroom head :p. Although my mum and sis think I look better than my previous style. Not many commented about my hair in sch, guess that's a good thing.

Shall upload pics when I take em. ECPJ pushed to Thurs, so we have a bit of a breather.

Off to do POFM project, ta!

Torrents

Finished reading the book that I bought yesterday. Took longer than usual, but I had work as well. Anyways, these poems below are on-the-spot .. verses HAD to get out of my system

in the silence
toss a glance
my way
and eyes open wide

where once
was a girl shorn
of laughter, of
joy

stands a woman
bereft of hope
dark pools of darker
despair

come closer to me
and I will show you how
the blood drips
from the blade

a rustle of leaves
breaking the
stilness
of the forest

a slight shift
in posture
eyes never leaving
the target

stooping down to drink
ears pricked, limbs
alert for any hint
of danger

sunlight sifting through
in shimmering flickers
of light on the
hunter and his prey

Couldn't think up of a proper title for them, shall attempt later. Maybe procrastination is really getting to me ..

~Remembrance~

Had a bit of rush in the morning getting to Bugis on time. Was late by a few mins, but Ben said it was ok, and we started walking up to Sim Lim Square. 3 years .. both of us had changed quite a bit. He had this 'Aussie' accent, me, I'd become 'skin and bones' lol.

We entered the Sony shop, and I chose a black Sony mp3 player (see below)

2 GB, with direct USB connection and FM tuner, up to 30 hrs playback = $165.

Happily carrying my purchase, we took a cab down to Paragon, where Ben treated me to lunch at Akashi Japanese Restuarant. Lovely settings, soft music playing in the background, friendly staff ^_^ As soon as we were seated, the waitress came over, took our order for tea, Wakatori chicken set for me (Ben's suggestion) and beef soup with rice for him; and handed us each a clean, hot towel to freshen up before our meal was served. Had a delightful meal, but forgot to take pics >< The prices are decent, I would highly recommend it if you want a quiet spot to have your lunch/dinner at a good restaurant.

We milled around the shopping mall, me looking at all the discounts and the tags GSS everywhere .. was sorely tempted to spend haha. Ben got 3 shirts at Giordano, then we both bought a book each at Kinokuniya, I got Hannibal Rising by Thomas Harris for $15.80 =) He got some novel by a Japanese author, forgot what the title is hehe

After that, we proceeded to Takashimaya, where we had tea at Royal Copenhagen Tea Lounge, lvl2. I decided on Mocha cake with chocolate sauce, and hot chocolate. Scones with butter/jam/cream sufficed for him. The place is so posh, the general feeling you get is this high -class setting for rich tai-tais to have tea lol. Ok, call me sua ku but well, I've never been to places like that before so yeah

At 4 plus pm we decided to call it a day. My legs are aching now, but, I'll treasure today's memories forever ..

p.s: Benny, THANKS for everything. Really. =)

Vivo!

Was supposed to meet the girls at 12pm, but somehow ended up arriving at Harbourfront by 30 mins late. Went up to Pacific Coffee Company on the second level of Vivo after getting directions from the Information booth.

It has a nice ambiance, really. We sat at the outdoor area, where you could see ferries below in the Singapore River, cable cars bringing tourists to and from Sentosa, and the occasional toots of a ship's horn. Sometimes the breeze would pick up, sometimes the air was still, other times the aroma of coffee from other tables or scents of dishes from Thai Express next door would float by. Its soooo relaxing, though it would be better if it was just me and my Significant Other, would be so romantic hehe *daydreams*

Anyways, I got Iced Chocolate Paradise ($5.95) *cry* heartache, it was so ex! But its Vivo, what can you expect? Still, its GOOD. Strange that when I see chocolatey things lately, there's this voice in my head telling me 'must buy' you know? As if without the voice I buy less choc -_- .. but how come I'm not putting on weight?!

I'm supposed to, its sinful and fattening isn't it? Or maybe I should buy more. Ya, and get more pimples >< *sigh*

Oh, and there was this VERY KAWAII ang-moh boy, about 3 years old I think, who happily came over to where we were sitting doing our work, bounced around a bit on the swinging chair that Clara and Sihan were sitting on. Clara managed to snap a pic of him before he toddled back to his mother and her friend with daughter in tow. Shall upload when I get the pic, and you'll know why he's so cute!!

We plowed on till about 4 plus pm, and then we went down to the basement level to have lunch at Jia Xiang Kuching Restaurant. Me, Huiqi, Clara and Chester (Sihan's bf who came to meet her) ordered Kolo Mee, while Sihan had curry noodles.

Took the train home and crashed. Am meeting Benny at Bugis tomorrow. Whee, I'm getting my mp3!!! ^_^ Aah, I'm so happy I could die lol

3 years. That is how long I haven't seen Ben in the flesh after he migrated to Perth. He's only back in Singapore for this week, then its off to China to immerse in their culture o_0. Still, I know I shall treasure tomorrow's meeting.

Well now, ciaos!

Running Short

Had to stay home today because the guy was going to repair my comp, as a result missed a POFM meeting. Am having Biz Com meeting at Harbourfront tomorrow, then on Friday, going to Sim Lim Square with Benny, so I'm going to have to miss yet another project meeting.

Apple Ipod, or Creative mp3 player? Anything that's 2GB, long batt life and well, packed with a load of functions. Kuching Malas that I am, I've yet to compare products ..

Am running out of time .. wish I had 1 more week of hols =(

*after guy fixed com*
My sis: Fixed liao ar?
Me: Ya. You want use you use lor
My sis: Yay! (nearly hitting fan in process)
My bro: Ey, I also want to use

Too bad he's the youngest so we bully him all the time, mwuah

Helluva Good Time

Met Paul at Woodlands mrt, 1pm on Saturday. He looked like his msn pic, dark, pleasant .. dare I say handsome? :p

Anyways, bought the movie tickets first [he paid =)], and had lunch at the adjourning hawker center. Been so long since I came to Causeway point, so yeah, its kinda nice, although I wish they'd differentiate between the ticket booths and the food and beverages booth at Cathy; its confusing ..

We had lunch, he ordered prawn noodles and I got roast chicken noodles, and we bought iced lemon tea and ice milo (for me) and went in.

Ocean's Thirteen is .. well, like its prequels 11 and 12, witty, funny, and with Al Pacino from the Godfather series years ago .. ok, no wonder people love him. He is THAT good of an actor. Even though it wasn't as exciting as 11, or as nice as 12 (where they shot in Europe), the movie was still good.

Willy Bank (Al Pacino) and Danny Ocean (George Clooney) squaring it off .. I thought the earthquake idea was kinda funny. And when you have Brad Pitt disguised as some grungy scientist trying to convince Bank to get his earthquake detector, complete with long moustache, flyaway hair .. its da bombs I tell you.

Enjoyed myself throughly, the movie took 2 hrs I think, after that we said our goodbyes, I went to the library while he went to the gym.

P.S: Paul has muscles ;) *drool*

One down!

Went to sch today to continue our POFM project .. reached there at 10am after dropping by at my grandma's place, because of my grandpa's 100 day anniversary. Monk chanting, with cramped area and smoke from the joss stick = really BAD. Could hardly breathe, but not as cham as last time. Rushed down to yck with my biao jie, who had to go for a talk (National Education module .. retarded if you ask me). And she's got bruises all over from falling down the stairs last week (thank god nothing was broken), plus she just finished her camp, so I really admire her for being so gung-ho.

Anyways, Mac had no Big Breakfast *cry* The auntie said the toaster was spoilt, so got hotcakes with meat patty-thingy. Headed for Block L to do our work in the lab .. lift had a 'no maintenance' sign. And, I forgot to bring my jacket, so FROZE in the lab.

We wrapped up about 4 plus pm, I didn't do much, then went home for a rest.

6.30pm, my dad popped into my room "ah girl, want to go see movie not?" of course! some more my mum sponsored me, my sis and bro, and my dad to watch POTC3 (WOOT) at Sun Plaza's Eng Wah cinema.

Passed salty popcorn around while we watched the show .. a lot of funny scenes, good ones also, but the one that sticks out has to be the monkey, Jack, in the cannon. Nearly died of laughing. Sao Feng had too little screen time, but overall Yun Fatt impressed as always.

Am now listening to At World's End soundtracks (which I downloaded .. long live Limewire :p) while blogging. And for the record, my sis is also awake playing Riviera on my gbsp. So, we can point fingers both ways.

I declare my bodyclock is topsides.

*missing him, for some unfathomable reason*

Update

Met Qi at Adm mrt to go to Amk mrt station together. When we reached, it was slightly over 12pm, we saw Robin there, then Clara, Bo Song and Thomas arrived; so we set off to Amk Hub to have our lunch.

The place was very crowded, we went up to the Foodcourt, I ordered ba chor mee while Clara and Qi got yu pian tang with milk. Later Gerald came by, so we all waited for each other to finish up while cracking jokes and having a laugh over our ICs XD. Bought myself a chocolate bubble tea with milk, extra 20 cents for the pearls, but totally worth it. For like every mouthful you get a whole lot of pealrs too, quite happy about that as some stalls outside very stingy with the pearls. First and last time I shall add milk to my bubble tea. Tasted >< though the chocolate helped a bit.

Walked over to Mac and did our work til about 5 plus pm. Got stumped by the really f-king phrasing of the questions. Stupid POFM project. But, for one day's work, we were not too bad. Meeting again tomorrow at 10am in school to continue what we did today.

Meanwhile, Paul and I have a dilemma, we don't know whether to watch POTC3, Shrek3 or Ocean's Thirteen. All good movies (notice the '3's? hehe, all sequels too)

Am I in love? Or is it infatuation? Or am I imagining things .. *sigh*

P.S: Below is the actual message I got from a guy called 'saint' on myspace, just for laughs ^^

my sweemty u are beautiful i ve gone through ur profile i like what i see as a matter of fact i really want us to come together as husband and wife here call me 2348033944452

I died laughing. Really. Like wtf kind of funny, lol.

Aleatoire

Went back to school today to take Biz Com ICA 2 from 2-4pm .. we had to write a letter and email .. letter was fine, except my format maybe jumbled up, but totally sunk for the email .. never write email to inquire about stuff before ..

Finished early, and headed to Splash and Decker .. I think the cashier knows me, 'cause I go there quite frequently, and I stepped up to the counter, and she said "You want the brownie with chocolate ice cream right? And Milo freeze?"

I was like, "wow, you know before I open my mouth to talk haha" But this time, I ordered Chocolate Exotic (5 layers of chocolate never tasted SO GOOD) and Milo freeze. Took my time with my meal, and plodded back to the room to wait for Ms Kannan to brief us about ICA3. After that me and the girls went to Mac to makan, before we went to meet some lecturer, who kindly told us about database stuff. Met mmblur at the helpdesk, will need to go to school earlier tmr to get my cd (hopefully).

Its project-based *dies*. Anyway, two project groups are meeting at 12pm at AMK mrt tomorrow, they're going out after that but I'll be heading home. Where on earth in AMK are we going to find a place to tap wireless connection and have charger? Unless its Mac, but I'm so seriously sick of fast food. On Friday, we will meet again for POFM project. Then, on Saturday, I'm meeting Paul to go watch POTC3 at Causeway Pt.

Crazy week, I was SO looking forward to my hols. *sigh* Can't be helped.

Sedap!!

Went to Newton Hawker Centre, Jack and Dany sat in the front of Dany's old Honda, and then me, Jean, Emma and John squeezed in the back. When we reached there, the place was a little crowded, but we managed to find a nice table.

Jack, our makan king ordered chicken and lamb satay, chilli crab, bbq stingray (yay), and oyster egg. A girl wearing a tube and miniskirt walked by while John was eating his chilli crab, and when he turned for a look he dropped the food on his pants XD. We all talked about school, about girl and boyfriends, even a debate about KFC and Mac, which was better. In the end Mac won, even if KFC's chicken was nicer.

Finished up with durian ice kachang, and we all piled into Dany's car again (a feat considering we were all full up) and reached home early at 9 plus pm.

Motley Crew is BACK!!!

After one month of MIA, the motley crew is BACK!!!!

I'm not going to hear your excuses, people, lets just get back to where we were before schooling days ok? And talk trash and gossip and what not at the kopitiam ..

<3s to Jack, for treating us all to dinner tonight. And Jean, OMG what happened to your hair! haha .. don't de siao me hor, seriously cannot get used to your new look .. weird, get what I mean? And if you visit my blog, at least talk leh. That's what my tagboard is for. Ya, and John, Dany, James, Emma - YOU GUYS KICK ASS!

Yup, wo shi ren zhen de. You guys NEVER fail to cheer me up. Been needing our power group hug haha

Anyway, POWER to us crazies bumpkins!! Love all of ya woot! Somebody better be driving today, I'm not gonna take the train home.

Am doing screen demo (still, and yeah I'm a slow coach) while surfing the Net. Should be asleep by now but I haven't finished! *curses project*

Wan dan le .. I think I'm going to skip 8am lesson tomorrow. JLO will shoot me, confirm, I think 3rd/4th time I skipped her class?

Not much today, but last few days have been getting requests on Myspace. Would not have freaked out, except some are 30-ish guys in S'pore wanting to meet for a drink or meal. Do I want to befriend guys who HIDE behind display pics not of themselves? Like maybe movie poster, not their own pics. In hindsight, I seriously doubt it. They must look like ><. I'm not exactly a looker, but HELLO, at least I have pride in my own pics. To each his own ba.

And also freaking SNAKE using the F word on me .. you F off to, I apologized and you blow up at me .. for gods sake LOOK in the mirror, that's the reason why you aren't married yet. *am sarcastic and vindictive for some reason hmm*

P.S: My former blog (the one with the BLEACH skin) is at http://singingdreamer.blogspot.com/

Musings

Before I start on serious matters, here's 3 poems that I composed in class yesterday out of boredom:

On Rainy Days

The rain drops fall
with a plop
down on the pavement
on the people below

Streams and rivulets
down my windows
I reach out a hand
to touch them

Closing my eyes I
revel in their
unsung melody, beautiful
haunting.

With each ache of
my heart, the rain
washes away
with each plop

The Things They Say

They tell me
to stand strong
and be proud of
who I am.

They tell me
I have aspirations
but the only things
of mine are dreams.

They tell me
life is a race
whether first or last
finish it.

They tell me
to break free
but how can I
when I'm chained.

I Am

I'm a little teapot
hiding in my world
of dreams, ready to
tip over

I'm a little hedgehog
using my spines
when people come
too near

I'm a little kitten
loving nothing more
than sleeping all day
in the sun

I'm a little girl
playing pretend with
the world
imagining I'm woman.

Alright, got those out of my system. School today was .. fine.
Had hot-fudge brownie with chocolate ice cream with Milo freeze.

Again. I think I'm getting
addicted to Splash&Decker. Anyhow,
decided not to go for IT2591 lab lesson
today, as my screen demo
(had to redo it) is really killing me. Had a long chat
with
Celeste while on the train home about relationships. I told her
about my past RL and online relationships, she talked about what
her friends were going through. And among the things we mentioned,
the word 'love' popped up a few times. Long and short of it, a
few things to note:

i) Love cannot be forced. It happens naturally, or you just find
yourself developing feelings for the other party somewhere along
the way.

ii) Love hurts as much as it will rock your world. It may sound
strange, but if I had to choose between me or the guy hurting,
I'd choose to give my all, and be hurt, than not knowing love
at all. Somehow, my relationships don't work out for some reason.
But as Kory says, I am a passionate woman, meaning I use my heart,
and I use my feelings in any relationship I get into; which isn't
a flaw. I just have to learn to find that balance between using
my head and heart.

iii) Love is what we all look for. But at this point in time,
most of us are just looking for companionship, not the real
'future hubby' deal. Me, I've always been looking for That One.
Maybe in love I'm mature (in other things I'm not, but oh well,
I'm not perfect.)

iv) Love is complicated. Especially when you're undecided on
whether you really like the guy enough to call it love. Which is
what is happening to my younger sis now. But she being in Sec 3,
where people have steads, make/break ups its common of them to
face things like that.

Whatever comes, I hope all of you reading this find true love
someday. To love!
